Pianist and harpsichordist Cécile Desrosiers holds diplomas from McGill University in Montreal, the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London England, and the University of Western Ontario, where she completed her Masters of Music in Literature and Performance in 1995. She taught piano at the Pré-Conservatoire in Montreal from 1982 to 1984 and at the University of Saskatchewan from 1984 to 1990. She worked as coach and rehearsal pianist for opera productions in Saskatoon, Ottawa and New York. She also accompanied numerous recitals at the University of Ottawa and, in 1997, was appointed staff accompanist at the Conservatoire de Musique du Québec in Hull. Ms Desrosiers has been heard on WQXR-FM (New York) and on many CBC broadcast, and performed in prestigious Canadian festivals such as the Festival of the Sound, the Ottawa Chamber Music Festival and the Niagara International Chamber Music Festival. She was also featured as guest soloist with the Saskatoon Symphony, the Brandon University orchestra and the Niagara Symphony. She currently holds positions at McMaster University and Mohawk College in Hamilton. She remains very active as harpsichord soloist and collaborative pianist, and is in great demand as an adjudicator and as an examiner.
